Cocoa Beans

Chocolate-covered cocoa beans, 80g
Chocolate-Covered Cacao Beans Raw cacao beans, fermented, enrobed in raw fine chocolate, both organically grown, Direct Trade - Superfood Raw cacao beans of raw food and organic quality are enrobed by hand with raw fine chocolate from Edelmond. This cacao specialty combines just three ingredients: Raw cacao beans, unrefined cane sugar, and cocoa butter. The chocolate-covered cacao beans are perfect for lovers of dark chocolate, with the sweetness of the cacao beans comparable to an 80% cocoa content chocolate. The coating chocolate consists solely of conched cacao beans and cane sugar, essentially cacao bean within cacao bean with just a touch of cane sugar. A sweet-bitter indulgence, crafted with a commitment to the most natural ingredients. The cacao beans are cultivated in the Dominican Republic under strict guidelines, are organically grown, raw food, and vegan! The Grand Cru cacao beans, like our 'Dominican Republic' coffee, originate from the Soto Santana families and are direct and fair trade. Kenny Soto Santana is the owner and managing director of Santana Trade and is in direct contact with coffee roaster Jens Kirmse and the coffee roasting company. 20 families from the Soto Santana family cultivate the cacao plantations and lovingly care for each individual cacao bean. Kenny Soto Santana was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in Germany. Remaining in close contact with his family, he has a vision: to market his family's products according to fair trade principles. The Soto Santana family has been working in coffee and cacao cultivation for four generations since 1883. For Kenny Soto Santana, the fair remuneration of his extended family is the driving force behind his work. Through direct trade of coffee and cacao beans, he also implements projects such as the development of roads to individual fincas, the construction or renovation of a medical station, active support for the school, as well as numerous investments in the future of coffee and cacao cultivation, such as processing plants and irrigation systems. Due to extremely limited cultivation areas, the cacao beans from the Dominican Republic are an absolute rarity on the cacao market and attest to the highest quality. Roasted Cocoa Beans, with Shell, 80g
Roasted Cocoa Beans Cocoa beans with shell, fermented, organically grown, direct traded, sun-dried, gently roasted, Superfood The noble cocoa beans are gently roasted traditionally in a drum roaster. These roasted cocoa beans are an absolute natural product. Except for careful fermentation, sun-drying in their homeland, and gentle long-term roasting, nothing else happens to the cocoa bean to transform it into such a delight for the palate. The long-term roasting largely guarantees the original taste of the cocoa bean. The cocoa beans are grown under strict guidelines in the Dominican Republic and shipped fresh after fermentation. The cocoa beans come from controlled organic farming and are vegan! Like our “Dominican Republic” coffee, the Grand Cru cocoa beans come from the cocoa plantations of the Soto Santana families. Both the coffee and cocoa are traded directly under the Direct Trade principle. The coffee roastery buys the cocoa beans and coffee directly from the farmers. Our partner for this is Kenny Soto Santana, a member of the extended family. Kenny Soto Santana is a native Dominican who grew up in Germany from childhood. His deep roots in his homeland allowed a vision to mature within him. Kenny Soto Santana made it his goal to trade his family's products, coffee and cocoa, directly and fairly to guarantee his family a decent livelihood. Thus, he founded Santana Trade to realize the direct trade of cocoa and coffee as a direct importer. The Soto Santana families have been farming since 1883, now in their fourth generation, and have specialized in coffee and cocoa cultivation. Years of tradition and outstanding qualities of coffee and cocoa have enabled the families to persevere through difficult times of falling coffee prices to this day. Direct Trade is based on a cooperative partnership between the coffee farmer and a major customer, such as Kaffeerösterei Kirmse. Long-term contracts are concluded between the parties to ensure planning security and not be dependent on daily fluctuating stock market prices.Through the Direct Trade principle, Kenny Soto Santana and his family have been able to implement countless local projects in addition to fair payment for their daily work. The fincas were connected by a road network. Previously, cocoa and coffee were transported by donkey through impassable terrain for further processing. Further goals and implementations include the continuous improvement of products and their quality, the possibility of processing coffee and cocoa themselves, ensuring children can attend school, and the renovation of the hospital.
