Product information "Malabar Coffee Blend"

Malabar Coffee Blend - Asia meets Brazil

In the Malabar Coffee Blend, Monsooned Malabar coffee unites with 3 other Arabica coffees from around the world, which together merge into a multifaceted, harmonious interplay.

Each of the four Arabica coffees enriches the Malabar Coffee Blend with its characteristic attributes in taste and aroma, creating a balanced, mildly aromatic overall composition.

What's in the Malabar Coffee Blend?

With the Malabar Coffee Blend, we have dedicated a distinct coffee blend to Malabar coffee, as Monsooned Malabar coffee already boasts enormous diversity as a single-origin coffee, while simultaneously embodying pure harmony. Now, we have added three exquisite Arabicas to its side, which, in our opinion, make it even a little more perfect. The Malabar Coffee Blend primarily contains Malabar coffee, the Monsooned Malabar. The composition is perfected by "Indonesia" coffee, as versatile as Indonesia itself, "Sulawesi Kalossi" coffee with great depth of flavor, and "Brazil" coffee, nutty chocolatey, with a round body and enchanting sweetness.

  • "Malabar" Coffee
  • "Indonesia" Coffee
  • "Sulawesi Kalossi" Coffee
  • "Brazil" Coffee

"Malabar" coffee is an Indian coffee that originates from the southwest of the country, from the Malabar Coast in the state of Kerala. The cultivation area is located in the Western Ghats mountain range in Anamudi Shola National Park. In the small village of Keezhanthoor, the Arabica coffee is cultivated in a small lot by 200 coffee farmers.

The hand-picked highland coffee, cultivated at an altitude of 1,500 meters and above, becomes truly special due to the specific processing it undergoes after the initial preparation. During “Monsooning,” the coffee beans are exposed to monsoon winds and rain in specially designed warehouses. As a result, they gain volume and change their color and taste. This process is modeled after the transportation on sailing ships in earlier times.

Monsooned Malabar is delicately nutty, velvety mild, with a pleasant acidity.

"Indonesia" coffee is infinitely versatile, as diverse as Indonesia itself. Originating from the Aceh region on the northern tip of Sumatra, this coffee is processed using the traditional Giling Basah method. After pulping, the coffee beans are dried and the parchment skin is removed. The beans develop a unique bluish-green color. The Giling Basah process reduces natural coffee acidity, while positively enhancing the exceptional body and diverse aromas.

This Indonesian coffee exhibits a fine acidity with earthy, smoky notes. It is considered an Arabica with the greatest flavor diversity worldwide.

"Sulawesi Kalossi" coffee also originates from Indonesia, from the island of Sulawesi, located between Borneo and New Guinea. Sulawesi Kalossi coffee is a rare coffee, of which no large quantities are available on the world market. It offers a unique flavor diversity and yet differs significantly from its neighbor from the island of Sumatra. The coffee thrives at altitudes of 700 to 1700 meters, is wet-processed, and sun-dried in the Sulawesi sun.

Sulawesi Kalossi has a powerfully deep, rich, complex flavor profile, with spicy fullness and notes of tobacco and dark chocolate.

Brazil is the world's largest coffee importer. However, our "Brazil" coffee is very special. There are not many coffees from the South American country with the quality that "Brazil" coffee possesses. The coffee cultivated in the Pedra Azul region was triple organic-certified and awarded as Demeter coffee in its home country, and is directly traded. The hand-picked highland coffee grows at an altitude of 900 to 1,300 meters in an intact ecosystem; shade trees provide the coffee plants with the necessary shade. Fazenda Camocim is considered a pioneer in biodynamic cultivation. Millions of trees were already planted by the grandfather of the current owner. A special feature of "Brazil" coffee is its sun-dried processing, pulped natural, which underscores its round body, with nutty, chocolatey notes and its enchanting sweetness.

Malabar Coffee Blend unites the uniqueness of Monsooned Malabar with the coffees from Asia, which offer the greatest flavor diversity, and is perfectly rounded off by "Brazil" coffee.

Oval Coffee Tin "Kaffeerösterei Kirmse"
Coffee Tin for Storing Coffee Beans in KK-Design For a long time, we fine-tuned the best possible coffee tin to complement our new coffee bags, ensuring perfect storage for the beans. Our elegantly black coffee tin in KK-Design, with stylish curves, protects the coffee beans from light and moisture. This nostalgic tin can accommodate up to 1 kilogram of coffee, including its coffee bag. How Does the Coffee Tin Keep Coffee Fresh? Our recommendation has always been: Store your coffee in its bag inside the coffee tin! Our new coffee bags feature an aroma valve and can be opened and closed an unlimited number of times via a zip-lock closure. Thanks to this zip-lock, the coffee beans are already stored airtight within the coffee bag, shielding them from external oxygen. Primarily, the coffee bag keeps the coffee fresh and, through its valve, allows the coffee to degas optimally. The Kaffeerösterei Kirmse coffee tin is not airtight, nor does it need to be – in fact, it shouldn't be. As our coffee is a fresh product, it must not be stored in an airtight coffee tin, as the naturally escaping coffee gases would cause an airtight tin to burst. In the coffee tin, the coffee beans are primarily protected from light. However, our coffee bag already provides this protection. The bag also perfectly preserves both color and taste. With its integrated aroma valve, the coffee bag already offers superior aroma protection. So Why Store Coffee Beans in the Coffee Tin Then? Here's the thing: Storing them in the coffee bag alone would be entirely sufficient. The coffee tin merely provides an additional layer of protection – and, of course, this tin simply looks fantastic in its nostalgic vintage retro design. Tinplate can consist of steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, or brass. Our coffee tin is crafted from high-quality tinplate. Tinplate is a cold-rolled steel sheet, food-safe, and guaranteed taste-neutral, in accordance with EU Regulation No. 1935/2004, which governs materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, as well as the LFGB, the German Food and Feed Code. Furthermore, our recommendation to store the coffee beans in their bag within the coffee tin is based on the fact that if you were to store the coffee beans without their original packaging inside the tin, coffee oils would adhere to the inner surface of the coffee tin and would turn rancid without regular cleaning. This way, the coffee tin always remains hygienically clean. Why is Our Coffee Tin the Best for Our Coffee? In addition to the reasons already mentioned, our newly designed coffee tin is particularly well-suited due to its oval shape, specifically for storing our similarly oval coffee bags. The coffee tin accommodates both 500g and 1kg coffee bags. We are especially proud of the Kaffeerösterei Kirmse logo, emblazoned in elegant gold and white on the matte black coffee tin – a true eye-catcher in any kitchen. Make a statement – with our coffee and the matching coffee tin. Shop our coffee tin for a great price now!
